A new home for NYX
Warwick and the Southern Downs have been calling for a while now, and the more time I spend there, the more it feels like the right place for our next chapter.
I'm looking forward to discovering new locations, meeting new families, becoming part of the local community and creating photographs that capture all the beautiful, messy, ordinary and extraordinary moments that make family life what it is. Because that's what I've always loved about photography. It's not really about getting everyone to stand perfectly still and smile at the camera.
It's about connection.
The little hands.
The enormous hugs.
The giggles.
The chaos.
The way your children look at you when they think you're not watching.
The moments that, at the time, feel completely ordinary, but become the photographs you treasure years later.
And I can't wait to bring that approach to families throughout Warwick and the Southern Downs.
But Ipswich isn't going anywhere ❤️
Now, if you've been part of the NYX family in Ipswich, you might be reading this and thinking:
"Wait... does this mean you're leaving us?"
Absolutely not.
I might be moving my home base, but I am not leaving my Ipswich clients behind.
I'll be returning to Ipswich once every month to continue photographing my existing clients and welcoming new families who would love to have a NYX session.
So your annual family photographs can still happen.
Your milestone sessions can still happen.
Your next chapter can still be photographed.
Highland Cow Experiences are definitely still on.
And yes, I'll still be there to see those familiar faces I've had the privilege of photographing over the years.
In fact, one of the things I'm most excited about is having the best of both worlds:
A new home in Warwick, while continuing the relationships that have made NYX what it is in Ipswich.
From weddings to families and everything in between
One of my favourite things about being a photographer is that a single session is very rarely just a single session.
I've had couples book me to photograph their wedding and then come back for maternity photographs.
I've photographed newborns and then watched those little people grow through birthdays and family sessions.
I've photographed families once, only to have them return years later with bigger children, new babies and another chapter of their story to capture.
Those relationships mean more to me than I can put into words.
I don't want to simply be the photographer you book once.
I want to be the photographer you come back to.
The person who already knows your family.
The person who knows which child will probably run in the opposite direction when the camera comes out.
The person who can tell when Dad is secretly ready for the session to be over. 😂
The person who gets to watch your family grow.
That's the NYX Family.
